Joe Pug Vido

So this is Joe Pug. He was one of my favorites from this year's Lollapalooza. I like his folk sound, and how he uses imagery and biblical reference to bring light to our current predicaments. The songs sound old, like Dylan, but the content is current and personal. He'll also give you free music if you go to his website.

If you need help with a memoir topic

Check out this website: http://www.writemymemoirs.com/content/memorylist.html.

Some good ideas here, I think. I like the one about a local hero or popular football player. It makes me think about this cheerleader from my hometown. She was older than me, and I always admired her, but now that we're both adults, it's strange for me to see how awful her life turned out. She was a "golden girl," you know? And now she's barely staying out of jail.

My Generation

At the beginning of the semester, we're going to talk about what characteristics constitute our generations. We'll also consider what items in popular culture best represent our generation. I've included a clip from the film "Reality Bites" as an example of my Gen-X culture. What movie or song do you think speaks of your generation? Feel free to post it to your blog.Reality Bites - My Sharona
